WORKING WITH Students

Director of Bands- Shenandoah Valley School District (2017-Present)

I was hired in June 2017 to become the next band director at Shenandoah Valley High School and Shenandoah Valley Elementary School.  My duties include Instrumental Music Grades 5-12, Music Theory, AP Music Theory, Music 7, Music 8, and Independent Piano Lab.  My Ensembles include 5th and 6th Grade, 7th-12th Grade Concert Band, Marching Band and Jazz Band.  I represented Shenandoah Valley as the Chorus Director.  I also served as Music Director and Pit Band Director for the yearly musical.

Gabriel Youth Orchestra- Principal Conductor (2019-Present), Associate Conductor (2019)

I conduct a 35 piece full orchestra consisting of students in Schuylkill County.  We rehearse every Wednesday from September to December, and February to May and present 3 concerts annually.

Volunteer Band Assistant- North Schuylkill School District (2021-Present)

Assisted director with marching band camp including teaching drill and running music sectionals.

Conductor- Jr. Cressona Band. (2016-2018), Interim Associate Conductor (2021), Membership Chairman & Associate Conductor (2021-Present)

Made up of students in grades 5-8 from the Schuylkill County Area that have experience with a musical instrument, but want to perform in an ensemble setting.  As Associate Conductor, I was is in charge with corresponding with the conductor, Mrs. Angela Dowd, as well as planning rehearsals and performances in conjunction with the Cressona Band.  I also served as the Interim Associate Conductor for the 2021 season.  In 2021, I was appointed as the Membership Chairman to oversee members in the band and to recruit new members from local schools.

Band Assistant- Pottsville Area High School Band (2013-2019)

Helped with 140-member Pottsville Area High School Band.  I was also responsible for coordination of annual 125-member alumni band.  Streamlined process to online registration forms and music. I was a summer band camp volunteer staff member.  Able to help communicate efficiently between staff, students, and parents.  I designed and maintain band website, as well as band social media accounts.  I organized a 40th anniversary concert for high school stage band, including communicating to alumni. I live-streamed all concerts from 2016- Spring 2019. I also created an online directory of marching band music for students to access and practice.

Camp Counselor- Penn State Schuylkill Campus- Kid's College (2012-2015)

Over the four summers I was able to lead various summer camp classes with students aged 4th-8th grade.  Among these camps were computer technology camps involving video game production, a Spanish class-camp, and Nittany Band Camp, designed to teach students basics of ensemble playing in a band setting.

Playground Supervisor- City of Pottsville, PA (2012-2013)

Over the course of two summers, I was in charge of the Bunker Hill playground in Pottsville.  Working with students of all diverse backgrounds aged 5-18.  My duties included organizing activities, as well as serving lunches based off strict USDA and FDA standards.
